Other AustCham Interests

AustCham Dragon Boat Team

The AustCham Dragon Boat Team is a high energy fun group of people that participate regularly in Dragon Boating competitions here in Singapore and the region. Although officially representing Australia, the team is very multicultural, with anyone living in Singapore welcome to join. Training sessions are a very social event, and a great way to meet people and keep fit. Held every Saturday afternoon on Kallang River, we invite you to come down and join the team at our training sessions for a paddle and a drink.

AustCham Cricket

Whilst AustCham doesn't have a cricket section, we have a long tradition in playing the game, dating back to the early years of AustCham where there were regular games against ANZA our sister organisation in Singapore.  The rivalry was formalised in 2005 with the Presidents’ Cup, a limited overs game played annually in October/November.  Needless to say, playing once a year against the 1sts in the ANZA cricket section means that we struggle to be victorious, 2007 being the closest we came to defeating ANZA.  However, out of the inaugural match the players decided that more regular competition was necessary and so was born the “Champs”, an AustCham based team playing in the Singapore Cricket Association 4th Grade under the ANZA banner.
