Advisory Boards – AustCham SME & Startup Group

An Advisory Board is a structured and collaborative method for organisations to engage with expert external advisors.  They provide a sounding-board for either the owners, directors or shareholders. Advisors test the leaders in a business on their own strategic thinking, providing access to expertise or connections that may not be readily available via other means.

The purpose of most advisory boards is to help solve business problems by stimulating, robust, high-quality conversations, making them perfectly suited to startups and SMEs, but equally able to support large businesses.  Advisory Boards do not make decisions, rather they increase the confidence of the decision-makers.  Being flexible in their nature, the Advisory Board structure and roles are chosen specifically to fit the business requirements.

Here in Singapore, we are supported by the Advisory Board Centre, a professional body which was founded to improve the effectiveness of the global Advisory Board sector, for professionals who fulfil an Advisory function and organisations for whom they serve.  The Advisory community is global and includes hundreds of Chairs, Advisors and Experts who are selected, certified and recognised for their unique leadership capabilities and acumen.  Reach out to us today, either contact Dale Cook directly at Dale.Cook@db3advisory.com, or you can enquire through the Advisory Board Centre based in Brisbane at www.advisoryboardcentre.com/.
