Australian Treasurer, Hon Scott Morrison MP will release the new budget 2018-19 on 8 May 2018. This session will cover the latest Australian Tax changes handed down the previous evening. Hear from Tristan Perry Head of Tax, Australia for Select Investors from St James’s Place who will give an expert analysis about how it will affect your business, assets and investment in Australia. This session will also cover recent topics including Australian Capital Gains Tax main residence exemption, Foreign resident capital gains tax withholding, Land Tax, Vacancy Levy and end of Australian financial year expatriate tax planning. 

This session will assist you to:

  • Understand and plan for any recent Australian tax changes which may affect expatriates, intended migrants and foreign investors into Australia
  • Give you a broad overview of any other Australian tax changes which were handed down the previous evening
  • Review the previous year’s major changes and how to tax effectively plan around them
  • Understand your end of Australian financial year tax planning options and how to take action if need be


Tristan Perry - Head of Tax, Australia for Select Investors - A Division of St James's Place

Tristan Perry is an Australian Chartered Accountant and has been working in Australian Tax since 2004, specialising in Australian expatriates and repatriation planning, intended migrants, private clients and retirement planning. His experience includes 7 years of working in one of Australia’s top private client and family office firms, together with nearly 2 years managing a large expatriate and foreign investor tax practice in Singapore. He is on the executive committee of the Australian and New Zealand Association Singapore (ANZA), on the Singapore members committee of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a regular presenter at various Australian tax events around Singapore and Asia.
