The annual Australian Chamber of Commerce Singapore (AustCham) business awards for 2020 were presented at a virtual ceremony today.

Chris Coburn, AustCham President, said the awards celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals who are leaders in their field.

“This year has been full of challenges, with our way of life being completely disrupted by COVID-19 and many businesses needing to adapt and show resilience under pressure,” he said.

“It is important for us to recognise the success stories and highlight areas where Australian business is continuing to push the boundaries and show exemplary leadership and innovation.”

The Commonwealth Bank Business Alliance Award was presented by Scott Speedie, CEO Singapore and Regional Head Asia and New Zealand for CBA. This award is presented to the Singapore company which has demonstrated a significant commitment to Australian trade or investment.

“It’s my great pleasure to present the 2020 Commonwealth Bank Business Alliance award to Fullerton Health,” he said.

“Fullerton Health Australia was established in 2013 but it was the acquisition of Healthscope’s Medical Centers back in 2017 that really brought critical mass to the business in Australia. Since then they have gone from strength to strength. Fullerton has also made significant contributions to the communities in which it operates”.

“From their support of communities affected by the bushfires earlier this year to their involvement in managing the COVID response in Australia where they provided 300 nurses to staff COVID hotlines for Australians concerned about their health which indicates a desire to not only serve the community but to be part of it.”

Receiving the award on behalf Fullerton Health, Dr Daniel Chan Co-founder of Fullerton Health and Chairman of Fullerton Health Australia, thanked the Commonwealth Bank and said the achievement was great recognition of the commitment they have made to Australia.

“Fullerton Health is in 9 markets across the Asia Pacific and we are committed to a long-term investment in Australia with close to 130 clinics across the country, over 1100 staff and 400 GP partners,” he said.

“It is important to us to contribute to the local community and you can see this through our support in the bushfire recovery efforts and managing the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We remain true to our mission of delivering affordable high quality health care to all of our patients and we are honoured to receive this award.”
