Tell us about your business

At givvable we want businesses to spend with impact!

We help businesses find, source, and track the impact of suppliers with sustainability credentials and attributes. All of our suppliers and credentials are mapped to widely used sustainability/ESG frameworks, and we cover the full range of sustainability categories (environment, social, diversity, ethical, community & governance), currently with over 90,000 suppliers across ~200 local and global credentials (and growing).

In terms of our offering, we have a range of solutions to search and engage suppliers aligned to internal policies and targets, run quick checks and reports on the sustainability of suppliers, and educate suppliers on emerging sustainability themes, such as ethical sourcing, circular economy and recycled content.

What’s your role all about?

My official title is CFO and COO, but apart from the obvious things that those roles entail, I predominantly focus on two areas; (1) Business development in Asia, and (2) Our supplier community.

We’re seeing more and more companies in Asia (and abroad) set sustainability targets on issues like carbon emissions, waste management, and reduced plastics and recycled content in products and packaging, so it’s a really exciting time to be engaging with them now.

Likewise, there’s a been a burst of sustainability-conscious businesses servicing corporate and government buyers – in particular I’m seeing a lot of innovative solutions in waste management (e-waste, corporate, food) packaging and construction materials. I really enjoy engaging with our supplier community, learning about good businesses doing good, and promoting them within our network!

Why are you a member of Austcham?

I’m a newbie to Austcham, having only joined in the past month! I’m excited to connect with the Australian-Singaporean business community and meet others working in a similar space to me. I’m always keen to find ways to collaborate and help other businesses, and also just meet some new and interesting people (in person, COVID permitting).

Where are your favorite places to go and relax in Singapore?

Coming from Sydney, I love anywhere close to the coast. We enjoy going to Tanjong and Siloso beaches on the weekend with the kids, or a picnic along the East Coast is always relaxing. I’m also a huge fan of the Botanic Gardens and love that so much lush greenery and open space is available right in the city.

What are your predictions for the next 12 months?

That we’ll be able to travel back to Australia quarantine-free (yeah… it’s more a wish than a prediction!)
