Message from the Board – Let’s welcome our newest Board Member

On behalf of the AustCham Board, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Chin-Parry as our newest Board Member.

Carolyn Chin-Parry is the Digital Innovation Leader at PwC Singapore, where she guides clients to achieve their innovation and transformation goals. She is joining the Board as a Casual Vacancy, and was formally appointed on Monday, 19 September 2022.

In recent years, Carolyn has won awards such as IT Woman of the Year for Asia, Asia Business Role Model of the Year, SG Top 100 Women in Tech and 40-over-40s Inspiring Women. She sits on the Advisory Boards for the NUS Centre on AI Technology for Humankind, Australian Institute of Company Directors, CPA Australia Digital Committee and She Loves Data (non-profit).

In Carolyn’s words, “As a Singaporean who has lived in Australia for 18 years, I am passionate about the Australian Community and this is demonstrated in my capacity as Chair of the AustCham Digital Committee, International Committee for the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Digital Committee for CPA Australia. As a long-term management consultant and currently the Digital Innovation Leader with PwC Singapore, I have a strong track record of helping businesses and professionals thrive in this region. My contributions to business and society in Asia Pacific have been recognised through recent accolades and I am humbled to bring my passion and genuine interest to enhance the success of AustCham and its members in the New World.

Carolyn is a former Chief Digital Officer and has led some of the largest transformation projects in Asia Pacific for multiple industries. She has been previously featured by The Economist, CIO Magazine, Channel News Asia, Money Mind, Microsoft, IBM, as well as the Singapore, Australian and Indonesian governments, and many Fortune 500 companies. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys time with her young family and actively champions digital inclusion for under-represented communities.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tim Chapman, who stepped down from the Board earlier this month. Tim was elected as a Director at the 2019 AGM and has been a strong contributor to the Chamber and to the Board over the last three years and particularly during the challenging COVID pandemic affected years. Since August 2021 Tim has also been the Singapore Chamber’s representative on the Board of AustCham ASEAN. Tim is returning to Australia at the end of the month. We wish him all the best in his new endeavours.

Best regards
Chris Coburn
President, AustCham Singapore
