James Cook University Report Launch

Friday 2 August 2019 | 3pm-5pm | 149 Sims Drive, James Cook University, Singapore Room C2-15

AustCham is supporting the release of a new report by James Cook University  The Effects of Overseas Business Expansion on Firm Performance: Evidence from Australia. As an AustCham member you are invited to attend the launch of this research on Friday 2nd August.

This report examines the impacts of Australian firms’ overseas business activities (outsourcing, import and export) on their performance, namely employment both casual and full-time workers, profitability and total sales revenue. The perceived negative impact of overseas business activities on employment is not likely occurs due to the potential growth opportunity. Thus, policy makers shall not discourage a firm’s engagement of overseas business activities. Even if an overseas business activity is perceived to generate a negative impact at home, it is more often than not that the potential growth opportunity (size effect) can offset such negative impact.

High-tea will be served post event.

This project is funded by PRATT Foundation.

Please RSVP here by 22 July 2019
