Australia and Japan Investing in Opportunities

 The Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ANZCCJ) together with Australian Trade and Investment Commission Japan, will be hosting an event ‘Australia and Japan: Investing in the opportunities’ on 26 September 2019 at the Australian Embassy, Tokyo. This event will provide business executives an overview of the opportunities for Australian and Japanese businesses in their respective markets, and the leveraging of those bilateral relationships to create further opportunities in other markets.

ANZCCJ Rugby Charity Gala 2019 

Friday 27 September 2019 | 7.00pm-9.30pm | Aoi Ballroom 2F, Palace Hotel Tokyo

This prestigious event will see the ANZCCJ host the who’s who of Japanese and international rugby as Japan plays host to the world’s largest rugby tournament. The event will also be attended by guests from the Australian and New Zealand embassies, local government, as well as international and local corporate supporters of rugby. We have the CEO of Rugby Australia, Raelene Castle, a number of former Wallabies players, former Brave Blossoms Captain and TV star Toshiaki Hirose, and much more, so stay tuned for further public announcements. 

This year, the Chamber will be presenting three awards to people who have contributed to the growth of rugby in Japan and around the world. The 3 award categories that will be presented on the night are:

  • Leadership in Rugby Award
  • Diversity in Rugby Award
  • Community Award

Funds raised at this this year’s event will support grass roots rugby clinics for Kamaishi children conducted by former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw and New Zealand Rugby at the new Kamaishi Recovery Stadium in Iwate Prefecture. Charities also supported will be ‘ChildFund Pass it Back’ and ‘Support Our Kids’.

ANZCCJ Breakfast: Building Future Partnerships - Key Investment Opportunities in Australia

Wednesday 9 October 2019 | 7.30am-8.45am | Wisteria Room, The New Otani Osaka

The Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ANZCCJ) together with Ashurst, Austrade, Macquarie and the South Australian Trade and Investment Office in Japan will be hosting a breakfast on Australian M&A opportunities during the Japan-Australia Joint Business Conference on 9 October at the New Otani Osaka.

 

This business seminar will provide practical insights from leading government representatives and advisors on successful investments from Japan into Australia, including lessons learnt from Japanese corporates who have recently undertaken Australian M&A, as well as opportunities for future investments in Australia. Speakers will include Austrade CEO Stephanie Fahey, Ashurst Partners Natsuko Ogawa and Tracy Whiriskey, South Australia Minister for Environment and Water, the Honorable David Speirs, and representatives of Japanese companies with recent experience in Australian M&A.
